Sedation Dentistry

We utilize sedation dentistry to help patients feel relaxed and comfortable during their treatments. It is especially helpful for patients who experience anxiety, fear, or difficulty staying still while receiving dental care.

Why is sedation dentistry needed?

Many people delay or avoid dental visits because of stress, fear of pain, or past negative experiences. Sedation dentistry makes it possible for these patients to receive the care they need in a calm and stress-free environment. It can also help with longer procedures by making them feel quicker and easier for the patient.

Sedation dentistry is also beneficial when working with patients who have physical, mental, or sensory limitations that may impede their ability to receive proper dental care. If you or a loved one needs dental care but has limitations that may make care difficult, please let us know when scheduling so that we can discuss sedation options with you.

Types of Sedation Dentistry

  • Mild / Moderate Oral Conscious Sedation: Oral conscious sedation uses prescribed medication to help patients feel relaxed and calm during dental treatment while remaining conscious and able to respond to the dental team.
  • IV Sedation: IV sedation is administered through a vein and allows the level of sedation to be carefully monitored and adjusted throughout treatment. This option can help patients feel deeply relaxed during dental procedures.
